Born Free August 2010 "magnificently dramatic" - The Argus 6/8/10 Our Pride Show this year was a celebration of the Golden Age of Cinema - classic movie clips, cheesey pre-show adverts and glamorous usherettes with their trays of interval ice-creams... and of course our feature presentation - music from some of the greatest Oscar-winning films of all time. Hosted by the wonderful Joanna van Gyseghem, the evening was a Box-Office smash! click here for the the full Argus review
This Morning - ITV July 2010 The Chorus appeared live from Brighton Beach on iTV's 'This Morning' on Monday 19th July.
Chairman John Hamilton was interviewed by Christopher Biggins, followed by the Chorus singing "Impossible Dream". Although due to technical issues we didn't appear for as long as we would have liked, it was a fun morning and great publicity!
The first Actually CIC Open Rehearsal Day, Actually Making Music, was a great success - and we're pleased to announce that we will be holding another one on Saturday 4th Sept, at St Andrew's Church.
Everyone will be welcome - singers and musicians, to have a go, with no commitment! We'll teach you a
few numbers that will show you what can be achieved. It will be a fun, relaxed atmosphere with plenty of help on hand from existing members.
Please feel free to come along even if you don't want to join - it
will be a fun day anyway! Click on the link below for more information, and to register your interest.
Actually - The Album!
Some of the guys, known as 'Brighton and Hove Gay Chorus' are now recording their first album, 'Actually', which we hope to release early next year.
Any new members joining the Chorus will have a chance to take part in this and future recording projects, after completing a probationary period with us.
January 18th 2010 - Only Connect - BBC4
Three of our Chorus members took part in BBC4's fiendishly tricky quiz Only Connect, where they took on three postgraduates from Brasenose College Oxford. It was an exciting battle, but unfortunately we were beaten by just one point in the closing seconds of the game having led all the way through. The team were delighted to be subsequently invited to Brasenose for a formal dinner, where we were treated like celebrities by our three very worthy opponents and their friends, and where we also learned some very interesting things about the College unicorn!
